BE A MOHS TECHNICIAN
Driven, Enthusiastic individual seeking to learn the skill set essential for the purpose of complex tissue removal and microscopic examination of skin cancer cells ( MOHS Skin Cancer Surgery). The apprentice should be well -organized, flexible and willing to assist wherever possible. To be successful as an apprentice, you must have a great time management skills and be willing to fit in to the existing staff structure and work environment. Outstanding apprentices are those who respond well to criticism, build good relationships with colleagues and clients, and ultimately complete the 400 hours DERMTECH training program .

Responsibilities:
- Learning and developing laboratory processing skills for MOHS micrographic procedure including:
* Receiving specimens from surgical frozen diagnostic cases, ensuring accurate identification of specimens, maintaining log book, frozen sections preparation, embedding, microtomy, staining sections for H&E diagnosis
- Participating in classes and workshops on and offsite
- Keeping a log of training proficiency
- Observing all health and safety codes set forth by OSHA, CLIA and other regulatory agencies and completing theoretical and  practical tests
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-High School Diploma or GED
- Drivers License
- Authorized to work in the USA
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Lab experience and knowledge of medical terminology
- Microsoft Office Proficiency
- Excellent visual acuity, manual dexterity & multi - tasking skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medical office, procedure / exam room laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, bio hazards or toxic substances. Daily activities include driving, standing, lifting of toll box up to 10 lbs., pushing, pulling when moving equipment and occasional loading and unloading of Cryostat using Liftgate and or ramp.
